Oh wow, that's exactly what we found! We were confused by it when we first saw it, but it's a neat format adapted for the needs of a bygone era. Wild to think that the pictures were so ubiquitous that a whole ancillary industry for albums popped up to meet a need that's hard to imagine these days.

Neat! Found an ancestor's album of tintypes from 100 years ago, wild to think that people just sent each other pictures of themselves & just had literal face books where they kept all of their friends & relations. Equally wild to see how time limited a phenomenon this was (1916-1921 in this case)

Anecdotal, during my last visit to Japan, spoke with a lot of folks on the younger side & they were all pro-Takaichi, though couldn't express why - just that all the other guys sucked & that she would "do things", whatever that meant. There was a lot of hate for Koizumi, universally viewed as dumb

I mean they've been on the Web3 thing for a few years already, although it is pretty baffling. Still, the way I've heard some people talk about it is like "we know it flopped over there, but we're gonna ガラパゴス系 it and make it work here like we've done with other things" so who knows, honestly

Le Bretagne's more "upscale" place in Kagurazaka (Bar a Cidre) is a 100% recommendation for slightly nicer lunch or dinner as well

That's most small busineses tho, esp the passion ones. You think you're just gonna do the thing you dreamed of & the world dickslaps you right in the face w/ "lmao here's 50 pages of statutes covering a niche thing you're mandated to do 2x a year, if you fuck it up we send a swat team to kill you"
