If you’ve wanted to go to #ffconf but couldn’t afford it, I have a ticket spare going.
Much rather it got used. ( my week’s focus got changed. 😞)

Tr*mp reckons that Mamdami is a “communist”. Superficial online research says, “rule by communist parties has often led to totalitarianism, political repression, restrictions of human rights, poor economic performance, and cultural and artistic censorship.” How is that different to Tr*mp's goals?

Zohran’s win may have surprised The Times, but it was no surprise to New Yorkers, or the magazine that bears our name. Well done to artist Edel Rodriguez.

Oh, yay! I didn’t think my LoopConf talk recording was going to be free to watch. But it’s out on YouTube.
This was an epic labour of love. I’m so glad I can share it with you.

Cloud inversions
The right weather conditions lead to a cloud inversion, where moist air fills valleys and leaves higher ground above the cloud.

I'm sorry but making content images semi-transparent / reducing their opacity in dark mode is not an inclusive design strategy. It makes the images less accessible—which is more problematic when the images contain text. & the fact that they need to be hovered to become fully visible makes it worse.

What’s with all the folks online tearing down other people’s stack? I’ve read many a post in the past few weeks where people have been complaining about WordPress. There are justifiable complaints, obviously. However I feel like some developers and designers have made their entire existence about hating WordPress. Celebrating people moving off the platform. … Continue reading

Most of the time, I think my photography has come on in leaps and bounds. Then, I see one of my photos from long ago, and am surprised just how good it is. These are the vineyards I've been photographing for over 20 years, as it was on a cold night in October 20 years ago.
