Why I never watch the BBC for it's news output, it ceded to those who complained any time that it was deemed to be too left wing when it was giving a truthful report but didn't pander to right wing politics.

Coming from the other side of the Atlantic I didn't know what GOP stood for.
Apparently it could be Greed's Our Policy, or Grifting Old Parasite.

I never thought I'd see the day when Randy Newman's satirical take on American foreign policy would be realised. A sad time when the American president lies through his teeth about Ukraine starting the war.

This album seems apt, kd lang's "hymns of the 49th parallel" - a homage to fellow Canadian artists. So tunes by Neil Young, Joni Mitchell et al.

When the al-assad regime was overthrown and reporters showed the cruelty and devastation wrecked on the country is it any wonder people are looking to escape.

A song that was ahead of it's time, Randy's commentary on the American psyche being satirical at the time but now I'm not so sure!

Politics these days is a bit like the photo in the fast food cafe named after that farmer who went EIEIO (I wouldn't call it a restaurant!) - that's what you're promised.
Then what is served is nothing like the image in the photo - and what you get is nothing like what you agreed to!

Getting stuck in to the biography of my favourite artist, not that many books written about Randy so this one has been long awaited.
