Birds were already on their heels. DOI - the agency tasked with protecting our fish and wildlife is clearly now not doing that. Decision that will set us back years.

So frustrating and short-sighted. REUs and REU sites have been an amazing opportunity for students interested in science to learn from mentors and peers in incredible labs and outdoor sites around the US. To what end? It is absolutely criminal.
