This is a power grab. Shane Jones wants to reduce any hurdles - such as regional councils rejecting resource consents - to mining.

Don't let them take our democratic rights away without any opposition.

Regarding Peters and the Regulatory Standards Act, while I agree with him, I wonder if NZF went through the "agree to disagree" process in the coalition agreement, as required by the Cabinet Manual.

Think of everything that has happened since 1994: the Asian economic crisis, the dotcom bubble, 9/11, the global financial crisis and the covid pandemic.

The biggest economic crisis NZ has faced in all that time is the doctrinaire clownshow of Willis, Luxon, Seymour and Peters.
