It seems like a bunch of people making decisions have a fundamental misunderstanding of community and the inherent empathy of the whole concept. The empathy is foundational, so people reacting angrily to attacks on their communities is only a surprise to the cave gremlins doing the attacking

I don't have the option of staying in and watching movies or reading or whatever because my neighbors spend an honestly concerning amount on fireworks every 4th/nye. Only thankful they are just far enough to keep the lawn debris down

There's never a bad time to practice courtesy to service workers but getting in the habit of it will pay dividends! My trash guys always get little gift cards or small bills and they've always looked the other way when Ive needed to get rid of neighborhood children
