Tomio let out a short burst of a laugh, thinking the question to be absurd.

That was what Gideon thought : if the body of a dead man can be / repurposed / then there wasn't any thing wrong with eating it. So , he shrugged at Tomio's words .

The creature— er, Tomio?— blinked his mahogany eyes, his vision clearing. He hesitated, almost as if debating on it, before taking Gideon’s hand to lift himself upwards.

His joints popped at the shift of weight and his vision darkening momentarily as vertigo hit. Ugh, he got up way too+

The sound of thr bones breaking made the brunette tense up . Unpleasant memories threatened to emerge from his subconscience but Gideon adverted his attention by putting down the sketchbook & pencil before scooting in closer to the pale creature .

He knew it was changing , he had seen other creatures shift before but it looked incredibly painful . He wanted to help in some way but there was nothing he could actually do .

Once the jikiniki changed into his human form , Gideon offered his hand for the other to take .

It was hard to display emotions for Gideon, it didn't come easy for him to show what he felt but seeing how the jikiniki grimance or shrugged its shoulders , it made him smile instantly . It was cute or at least that's what he thought .

He'll head back into the house in case the sun was leathel to the creature . He really didn't know what to do now that it followed , perhaps he could sketch -

The jikininki almost seemed to grimace at the question.

Truthfully, no, it’s never good. It absolutely hates having to eat the dead, but it would rather not feel like it has the worst stomach flu imaginable if it ate something normal.

Gideon was lost in his thoughts when the jikiniki moved in front of him . It had been the first time that night that he was startled . Annoyed with himself for letting his guard down for even a second ; Gideon pinched the bridge of his nose & sighed deeply .

It took almost no time at all for the body to be completely devoured. Absolutely nothing remained after to even suggest someone used to lie there dead before the jikininki came along.

Cursed with eternal hunger, the creature wasn’t satiated. But, it decided that this would be as good as it+

Gideon didn't know much about jikinikis , matter of fact , it had been the first time he encountered one , but he at least knew what their diet consisted of .

He didn't look away when the other started to eat , instead he made a mental note to later document it in his journal .

Gideon then turned his back towards the creature to give it some privacy as it finished eating .

When the brunette finally did look away it was because something else grabbed his attention .

The spirit of the man that had dead was watching how the jikiniki ate away at his body . Without a word he looked at Gideon & sighed deeply , there wasn't much he could do .
