One of the main reasons why I think most of social media is boring nowadays is because relatability and authenticity are a brand. A lot of the things we need to heal and feel like ourselves have become brands and are capitalized off of now.

Have you heard of US painter Ida O'Keeffe? Her work was largely overshadowed by that of her much more known older sister Georgia.... #womensart

If you talk about craft, you are going to have to confront the problem of taste bias. Because I see people trying to say certain styles of poetry (grounded in historical techniques) are lacking in craft. Often, people use craft as justification for not liking something without knowing what craft is.

An oil still life experimenting with brighter colour. All of these objects came from charity shops along the street near where I live, including the tie-dye cloth. The jug seems to be from the '20s (a survivor). The painting is still in the studio hanging on the wall.

I really love when life coaches try to sell community to neurodivergent individuals. It's not a community if you have to pay for it, Bub.

I’m not a hobby person. I am not against people who love picking up hobbies. For some reason, I just can‘t have a hobby to escape. Because I always overdo it. I put all of myself into a project until I approach burnout. Then I hate it and eventually quit. 😵‍💫 Anyone else like this?

You know what would be cool. If a poet or a group of poets, got a dispenser that took quarters (like a gumball machine but with a larger slot at the bottom), and they put poetry zines in it. And they left it in a public venue of some kind. A poetry jukebox of recorded poems would be cool too.

I'm speaking
a different language today.
The whimpering
becomes a whisper
on the infant breeze.
I'm dripping
moonlight
to ease
the nauseated ghosts.
Catharsis is divinity
and my veins
are filled with pearls.

1. I know we have been a little quiet over here. Still operating as a one-woman show. To be transparent without giving too much detail, I have a lot of personal limitations that I need support for and don’t have support for. This support is costly and time-consuming.

I don’t care about accommodating an algorithm. Because it is a flawed system made by flawed people to vet popularity contests. You shouldn’t care about it either because it contributes to a negative self-worth culture that shouldn‘t exist.

I think quizzes are an outdated and ineffective way to measure memory retention or knowledge base. Because they primarily rely on rote memorization rather than depth of knowledge.
