if a project of mine is all roughly the same level, just ordinary conversation, it is no problem. but if i have to also account for whispering or shouting, it falls to bits. i need to learn more.

i am once again unsatified with my audio quality. i am constantly chasing some idea of perfection that i don't even know exists, but i know for sure i am not anywhere near there yet. all my stuff is too loud, and my workflow cannot handle higher dynamic ranges at all. i want to do things properly.

i don't like idioms in general. they are sometimes useful for conveying thoughts to others, but most of the time they get in the way of critical thinking. "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is an especially bad one. why not? it is good to hone and perfect things after getting to a "good enough" state
