The only good that can come out of any of this is for the Brewers to finally put away the Cubs, and then make the Dodgers look like little babies in the NLCS. Please, baseball gods, I'm praying, here

I am like you and don't like either of these teams. And yet I am still rooting for like a million innings so the teams wear themselves out. My Padres may be out, but somewhere deep in my baseball brain I think the more pitches they throw now, the better for us next year

to harden and resist than join the fascists. While history certainly shows a violent minority can dominate a much larger population, I do not believe that would happen here. Our belief in our right to self-determination/individualism would, ironically, collectively save us. My $0.02

the emotional/social cost of pushing back against those we don't like is small. There would be, of course, physical danger, but we also arrogantly like to think that we laugh in the face of physical danger. Gaming it out, if the minority trying to dominate with violence

our origin story is all about sticking it to the man and going our own way. We really don't like to be told what to do (or at least we think we don't). Since our leaders are unlikely to be our kin (as they are in places with a long continuous cultural history)

I'm an optimist, but I do think we antifa can beat fascists in the USA. Our arrogant belief that we revere individual freedom and self-determination more than anyone else could save us. Instead of sharing centuries or millennia of culture/ethnicity/genes
