Some of the time yes on first part
All of the time yes on the 2nd part
Hang in there

Ok he’s either in need of intervention

Or

He is a good outside the box thinker, because the rain will wash away whatever he brings up in the power wash.

Maybe you should still check on him though

Congrats. I like the competitive nature of ur QB, and that your team didn’t quit. Man for your sake he’s got to stop taking some of those hits. I used to say that with early Wentz. He never learned and it largely derailed his career.

Stout. Vic. Hurts. McKee. Howie.

The 5 most valuable people in the organization, IMO. Just none of them perfect.

All with a few proclivities that I’ve noticed years ago that sometimes need to be held in check.

Kind of insane that one of the superpowers of the Hurts era just vanished for no good reason.

The opposition is expecting pass? Great. Block the 2i and let her pick up a cheap 10 yards.

Extremely simple. Extremely effective. Vanished.

Instead of wasting time with Pryor and Kinnard at OT, I wonder if they could have spent more time at LG. They both seem better at G.

I think they identified Toth early as who they wanted.

I’d have less of an issue w/it if they were smarter about calling plays he can execute.

Broncos. Analysis good, names bad. I call my wife my daughter’s name. She loves that. It’s genetic. Grandpa used to call me Oliver, his dog’s name.
phillywannabgm.bsky.social
Is Toth useless? No. He can do stuff.
Is he a serviceable backup? Sure
Can he block a 3tech in a play designed to go off his ass without help? No. We already know this. Why even try?
Was going into the season with him as top backup best plan? Anyone with an ounce of common sense knew it wasn’t.

Sorry to beat a dead horse. But why the hell would one run behind Toth on anything where he's expected to drive a DT out of his gap? Does Stout have a daughter he is dating or something? Does Patullo not realize that calling certain run plays needs to take OLine talent into the equation?
phillywannabgm.bsky.social
I said Tobin instead of Toth. Hah. In my subconscious, they blended into the same Stout pet project. Matt Tobin was last a backup for us in 2017 I think.

Eagles averaged 4.62 and 4.67 ypc on non-QB runs the last two games despite doing a handful of dumb stuff. And they keep gradually getting smarter. They also put in some read option and RPO successfully.

What happened to QB runs up middle when opposition expects pass? Why abandon run vs Texans?
phillywannabgm.bsky.social
The Eagles still did dumb things in the run game:
-at times predictable
-ran 3-4x's behind Toth on things other than a down block
-pulled Steen on counter once

However, it has improved 3 straight weeks, and is easy to improve further. They can be a run/RO/RPO offense if they wished.

I'm not going to pretend I have watched every single snap of Tyler Steen this season. But I've seen a lot of them. And I see a perfectly solid starting RG, which is the same thing he was last season also if he played.

Numerous times he needed no help vs Lawrence. His run blocking is also fine.
phillywannabgm.bsky.social
Do they really need to be this predictable?

If you are intent to run it, do a different run from the same look. I hear professional football teams can do this sort of thing.
I mean how hard would duo weak with a read option tag be?

We called it. Volume up.

Eagles are too predictable here running outside zone from pistol, as they often do throughout the season. But two important modifications here to what they have been doing makes the play successful.
phillywannabgm.bsky.social
Volume up.

Actual video evidence that good old-fashioned DUO does exist in the Eagles' playbook.

It's possible to tag read option and RPO to versions of duo. We don't always have to zone. For the love of God.

Steen/Toth are more positional blockers to me than pullers. But 70% Jurgy can.

Steen has opened holes for Barkley numerous times on the play Becton thrived on. But A gaps more cloudy due to Landon hobbled. He can’t scoop the As open like he did lat year. So they are 5 yd runs instead of 15.
phillywannabgm.bsky.social
They could so easily be 2-4 right now.
phillywannabgm.bsky.social
I haven’t seen offense all-22 yet. But watching live, they pin/pulled Jurgy and Toth multiple times on what might have been OZ. It def looked better that way.

I guess to varying extents we are all guilty of believing what we want to believe. Self included. But thanks for the positive review.

😀😀😀i tried posting about it with a video on reddit. Mod took it down immediately and said “Nobody needs yet another histrionic take about your personal opinion on a rookie”

I’m like. This is actual analysis. Most of the reddit eagles page right now is actually histrionics.

Retaining Siri after 2023 was a huge mistake. If Kellen wasn't available, maybe no Super Bowl. I suspect keepin him might have been as much the owner as Howie. But I do think Howie likes working with him, and that carries weight.
phillywannabgm.bsky.social
2nd and last snap I will show of condensed front and Byron Young failing us in the 4th again. Big 90 gets moved a little too on the brief double team.

I think a big issue is they need to find someone other than Baun (the mike in these fronts) to take on Hbacks and Fullbacks.

Condensed fronts were not working vs the run last half of the 4th as Giants ran out clock. Part of the problem was also Byron Young on these.
