I didn’t check the 12,604 pages - that seemed about right. But the implication is that there are an average of 123014/12604=9.76 links per page. AVERAGE. That would also mean that only 0.699 % of my blog links (which spread over nearly 20 years mind you) are broken.

My Drafts Inbox below 200 for the first time - in a loooong time - mainly thanks to an action I just discovered for Raindrop. Side Note - it didn’t work on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd …. Who knows how many times I tried❓ I gave up and decided to ask the Drafts Community - I wasn’t holding my breath - the action is over two years old. BUT - almost by return @agiletortoise responded and in no time at all - I was working.

🔗 The Broken Promise of Reach

"The old promise of platforms will provide is broken."

"Your authentic ideas are lost in a sea of algorithmic content designed for engagement."

We’re not going back.

Now we need to build something new.

What we build is up to us.
The Broken Promise of Reach
AI is changing things we take for granted: the relationship between effort and reach. For years, the implicit promise of the internet was straightforward. Put in the work, create something valuable, and you’d find your audience. Maybe not millions, but someone. The effort you invested had a reasonable correlation to the impact you could achieve. A thoughtful blog post might get shared. A well-crafted tutorial could help thousands of developers. The work mattered because it reached people who needed it.

Horace again … 🔗 Does Apple’s AI Opportunity Outweigh Component Cost Inflation? Unlike many of its peers, Apple isn’t in the race to win AI benchmarks or translate those gains into tangible financial gains. It just needs those features to change behavior and pave the way for healthier services revenue. Again - 🍎 is not playing out game - BUT - except they clearly do not know how to manage announcements of upcoming products and services.

Like this one.

Loved Yes - never a big fan of Asia - despite Asia often being made up of people I love … like Wetton, Howe, Palmer and Downes for example and Fanfare is one of my favourite ELP tracks.

(BTW - nothing like ELPs and IMHO a massive improvement.)

The measure's passage is largely symbolic as it's likely to be vetoed by the president if it survives a Senate vote.
