The many allegations put forth by OSU to justify the firing should be easy to document. In this day and age - everyone, especially the EOA office, would be filling out reams of paperwork covering their ass. If facts are as presented, Barnes has some 'splainin' to do...

Agree. I'm no Chauncey-stan. If the evidence on the poker game is solid, that will be more troublesome. Anyway, opportunity for coaching staff change in PDX with new ownership and now this.

I'm sure that's why he wasn't indicted, but when you tell someone "we're going to tank to increase our odds in the lottery", that's essentially insider information

actually, if you read the indictment - you can figure out that Billups is un-named "Co-Conspirator 8" - fed non-public information about the Blazers tanking the game - which was then acted upon. So technically, not charged with sports betting, but pretty shady...

While it totally outlines the absurdity of the whole situation, the premise then becomes "she's crooked but to a lesser degree". Ugh.

MAGA is already so into "whataboutism" - their biggest defense of this so far is that "she prosecuted him for dubious reasons so this is fair game, law is the law"

No, for sure, they haven't ruled, but from the tone of 2/3 of the judges, as well as the questions asked, I'm not too optimistic.

Also, the issue before the court was the first TRO, not the second, but the implication is that the government will appeal the second in the same manner if successful

Just tell that to the 9th Circuit in the Oregon case. They completely disagree with the facts as laid out by the district judge...

The two lower court rulings seem very well reasoned and appropriate given the "facts" of the case.

Yeah- when you don’t have the tools, totally screws up all aspects of play calling. We played like a young team- as soon as Houston started having success with fast tempo, defense wilted, offense froze. All long-suffering Beavs knew what coming.

Individual talent there. Coaching, not so much.

Hopefully, students back in town helps with the environment - my son just started classes this week, and proudly texted when he got his student ticket! Go Beavs!
