As part of Sexual Abuse & Violence Awareness Week, we're asking what can we do to help women too afraid to speak out? Up to 83% of partner abuse goes unreported. Fear, shame and disbelief keep survivors silent, and trauma often leads to self-medicating, creating barriers to support.

Today marks the start of Sexual Abuse & Violence Awareness Week.

For many survivors, the trauma doesn’t end when the abuse stops. Some cope using drugs or alcohol — not as a failure, but as a response to trauma. Stigma too often blocks access to the support they deserve.
