THIS. It needs to pay more to artists but for better or worse Spotify has done HEAPS more to help me discover new artists and new music by artists who aren’t part of the payola parade than the likes of 6 Music or the music press have in decades.
Spotify may be structurally evil but a lot of ≈Scandinavian indie acts it's found me have ended up getting vinyl & ticket sales in the bag for years to come. 2025's new-to-me is Truck Sized Asteroid, the 4th album from Thea & The Wild, absolutely gorgeous.

Great to have them back! Also nice to hear that work has began in further bluray box sets. Currently tucking into Season2/Series B and it’s an absolute treat of a set. #Blakes7

So many killer (and influential) guitar solos with KISS & his NY cool vocals added a unique vibe to the band. His 1978 solo album is one of the best to feature the band’s logo, if you’ve never heard it before it’s well worth 36 minutes of your time
