Her impact on the industry on the whole cannot be overstated. Uematsu and Kondo were powerhouses, but they just don't have the scope of Shimomura. Basically, if there was a game that got you into a genre, Shimomura was likely involved.

An episode popped up in a search for movie death scenes one day in 2020, and I've been watching it ever since. It's only gotten better with time, and I hope people rediscover the channel. Poor guy barely got to enjoy his fame. Less than a decade after Back To The Future launched his career into the stratosphere, he's diagnosed with Parkinson's and all of his momentum comes to a halt. But in laughing it off, funding research and repeatedly defying odds, he's still kicking ass.

There's always this mentality of "People have lost their ability to talk and listen. Everyone just gets angry and mean." Meanwhile, Rowling's made it ABUNDANTLY clear that she has absolutely no interest in hearing what trans people and allies have to say, and posts incendiary shit constantly.
