Abyssinian (Ethiopian) warrior. During #blackhistorymonth I like to post little known bits of African history. So here goes with one of my favourites; in 1884, as the Mahdi swept all before him in the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan, England asked Ethiopia to save the Egyptian garrisons in South Sudan.(1)

I could post about ICE being domestic terrorists or about how insanely stupid it would be for an American president to attack Greenland but it’s pouring snow outside and I think I’ll paint some Samurai.

I’m so deeply honoured that our #arcanaimperii novella (co-written with @slashnburnett.bsky.social ) is in this issue and with such a brilliant illustration. Wow! It’s a four part story and it will provide the reader with a new perspective on the Arcana universe. And it was SO FUN writing w/Emma!
The first print issue of GdM gave us a massive opportunity to invest in more art. Carlos Diaz and @oldragingbarbarian.bsky.social created 1-2 art pieces per original and reprint story. Simone Tammetta's first piece is of @phokion.bsky.social and @slashnburnett.bsky.social Reconnaissance Notes E2.
