this ghost-pictid is a 'dhoul'. ghost types are strong to dark types but weak to light types.
this move is 'scary face', and if an enemy is close by, they will be stunned.

some more level art. there will be various biomes (plains, forests, swamps, deserts, tundras, etc.), day/night cycles, and weather patterns (sunny, rainy, windy, stormy, snowy). so you will have to explore the land thoroughly to find all the pictids!

a better look at the differences between real-time & turn-based combat. this is the same move - champ's side special - in both gameplay types.

a spooky-ish animation. one of champ's up-specials. it can poison an enemy if they get too close!

to kick off october, this is a nyte. this pictid is a dark-type, and is strong to plant and light, but weak to ghost.

this is a smoog, a fire-type pictid. fire types are effective against plant, bug, wood, metal, and ice types.

this is a metal-type pictid. more basic movement and some of its attacks. metal types are effective against wood, rock, and ice types.

you can level up by defeating pictids in the wild. they will drop items, XP, or nothing!

Hey - no, it's a monster taming game with real-time combat. There would be exploration elements, but think more pokemon meets smash bros.
here's a look at the map in the GUI. check which elemental types dwell on which island.

the start screen will vary depending on the time of day and/or the weather.

each pictid has their own entry in the bestiary, along with a paw print and description (not yet added). meet crook! a water type

concept art of a gym-mode battle. this is a fight against a sköl, an earth/ghost type, for the dual-type badge

some pictids have a standard roll animation. others draw on their element and have a unique roll animation!

You could do a city-building game in your pixel art style à la Sim City 4. Could be a huge hit!
some pictids can learn moves from another element. this is a smoog, a fire-type that can learn thunder, an electric-type move. it can help smoog deal with water-types, but as a payoff, the move can paralyse the user.
