Nice two weeks of remote work in #Catania are coming to an end. Productive work, enjoyed time with local colleagues, and managed also to put in a weekend in Lipari and a very nice conference on Vulcanology by @borisetneo.bsky.social. But nothing beats having a swim and granita before work ;) 🌊 🌋 🐘

Glad to discover you are a cycling fan! Hope you are able to enjoy your Roubaix, despite the non optimal timing (similar struggles of European based NBA fans…)! 🪨 🚴

For those who celebrate, happy Roubaix weekend! 🚲 🪨 For those who don’t and do not care, you might enjoy watching a video of a joy and tears, here is Colbrelli’s victory from 2021. I watch it at least once a year and cry smiling 😭 🤩 with him! youtu.be/JtScP6nTTNE?... (wait for 1:35)

Great short talk by @felienne.bsky.social Feminism is naturally geared towards understanding "why things are the way they are" and biased against unfairness and inequality. And "making things easy" is powerful and under appreciated www.hytradboi.com/2025/419859c...

Jake and I were chatting a couple months back about how this week would go and he said, basically verbatim, "There will be a little drama and then Steve Klabnik will put out a thoughtful and nuanced blog post a day or two later" ❤️

👉 Key takeway: Social media platforms inevitably face a trade-off.

Reducing toxicity improves user experience and limits harmful content, but it also lowers engagement and ad revenue—creating a misalignment between social good and corporate incentives.

We all know which side they chose. ☢️
