Share your knowledge if/when you can. Teaching other people how to do what you do doesn’t lessen your art - it just means more and better art for everyone.
I appreciate when people are willing to tell me about their brushes, how they study, etc… I want to put that back out into the world.

Let’s keep tinkering until we‘re happier! Personal taste will influence things. I admit air brushing in colors together will be a little trickier, less is more if it’s getting too mushy. Thin it until it’s faint. Also optional and to taste, but that’s an unspoken for all this.

oh god idk if this is helpful but its shit like this. a lot of my recent examples are teal/greenish water but the principle is the same no matter what color water there is. i havent drawn ocean waves in ages tho

Been deliberating on how to give novice coloring advice that isn’t “errrm just pick better colors”
This was my actual beginner steps starting out. Like I learned hue shift but it wasn’t coming out right. Turns out it’s likely your values. And even mixing novice colors and tweaking tone can help.

I probably won't be able to use it much until I move (or maybe I can... if I get some table room or things to catch paint) but I am already eyeing acrylic gouache as a potential Christmas gift. Got a wet palette and spritz bottle ready, just need to figure out how I'd keep an area to paint again...

I know it's purposely clickbait but I can still shame those video titles that are like "STOP USING THE LOOMIS HEAD DO THIS INSTEAD" "Greyscale to color is bad" or any other "[common technique] is bad actually" Like can't you people just fucking post art instead of this shameless click farming
