My cat Channing decided to watch the new @wattsthesafeword.bsky.social Unhinged Dating App Encounters video with me and he’s now relieved that he’s getting neutered soon. (Also, please pardon the spoon that my ADHD self dropped in frame while attempting to get the photo.)

That 62% O2 sat was WAY too close for comfort.

So, the good news is I DID NOT die in this damned hospital on Wednesday morning, even though I was convinced I was about to. Thankfully someone FINALLY responded to my repeated frantic call button presses, discovered that the Bi-PaP had turned itself off, and restored my oxygen. Pneumonia sucks.

It’s not a white Christmas in Indy so no snowmen BUT the fairy toast nonpareils from my plate ended up on my banana and left a snowman face on it. The nose is even carrot orange!
Happy Winter Holidays!

Photo shows a 1 inch piece of banana held between thumb and forefinger. Imprinted on the banana are blue and green dots for eyes, an orange dot for a nose and a red dot for the mouth.

I was trying to describe something as smelling really bad but my brain kept insisting that the correct phrase for that was “audibly stinky.“
I suppose that implying something smells SO bad that you can actually hear the odor would probably get my point across…

What’s super sad is when even I recognize it’s not DC, and I’ve never lived there—just spent a few weeks most summers between ages 12 and 21 visiting relatives in Point of Rocks and taking the train into DC during the days as a farming escape.

Oof. It’s been years, but I still remember MS Word’s transcription of “iambic pentameter” as “I am bank debt and Camembert.” Nothing like being read by your own laptop.

This fits well with the new phrase I learned the other day: joy practice.

Okay, I think I’ve found and followed most of my core Tumblr peeps from back in the day, but it’s a work in progress. Also, hi people in my phone!

Hey, you! I’ve missed your face!

How does one run face first into a point and still miss it?

Or I get my dad insisting that T “couldn’t do any of [insert promised horrors here], there would be too many lawsuits.” Sigh.

I found this old one of Sutton today. Maybe it’s a tuxie thing?

Finn has my entire bed, my pillows, the blanket pile on the bed, his beloved high shelf in the closet, AND a cat cave to choose from. Forget those! My sweet little himbo has decided (again) to rest his head on my toiletries case. #cat
Grey tabby cat lying down with his head propped up on an uncomfortable-looking clear plastic zipper case.

My best angry lunch walk was in 2013 thanks to our then-new Gov. Pence utterly predictably putting pregnant women & infants at risk to satisfy his performative piety. I stomped almost a mile sans coat in Indiana January wearing one heel and a walking boot. It was totally worth it.

Sounds like what my iPhone does to me every time I use voice to text.

My favorite is Fashionable Food. It’s part cookbook, but mostly twentieth century American food history/trends. Seeing what was popular at times is a bit shocking.

Not exclusively vampires (there are also werewolves and occasionally ghosts) but I dearly love Gail Carriger’s steampunk Parasol Protectorate series, and its YA prequel Finishing School series. 🩷

Chiwetel Ejiofor does a beautiful job with the narration!

As an audiobook, this is one of my comfort listens. And even after hearing it probably hundreds of times now, it still makes me think.
