There are also things that are despite of it. Despite the reunification over 3 decades ago, my home culture gets ridiculed and belittled by fellow Germans. Despite it, we get paid less than people in the West. Despite it, Eastern Germany [2/6]

To many people in Germany, it isn't that big of a deal. Because for them, nothing changed.

A lady in her, I'd say 60s or 70s, sat down and started playing Blowing in the Wind on the hostel guitar. Just for herself, in an empty lobby.

It really is such a hard experience to digest because it was genuinely such a good story. And it's hard to let go of it. Im sure eventually I will but for now, I'm staying just a while longer.
