Every survival horror game needs a save room ritual! Resi has typewriters and tape recorders, Silent Hill has the red square and notepads.

We need to reclaim networking as the act of making friends without expecting to "get something" out of it.
I made a bunch of friends in game Dev circles like 8 years ago through "networking" and now they're stuck with me forever.

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.
They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +

If the game you're making is conceptually similar to another game you like, that shouldn't really stop you.
It stopped me for years. I never finished the game I really wanted to make 6 years ago because of it, and that sucked.
I've since seen very similar games to mine that are wildly successful

Finally, the video that Shattered Memories deserves!
Something that would put a nice red bow on 2025 for me would be if this video, which became my least viewed in the channel's over five year history, got some more attention. Some of those who've seen it are telling me it's my *best* work of the year.
