I think im pretty happy with the overall design, and how the support layer works in mini, but I'm sure it'll take some fine-tuning once gravity gets involved with the full-sized version. I'm amused at the pattern for the back to get those pleats into the peplum. #sewsky

I wrapped up my pre-holiday tasks at work a bit early, so im enjoying an afternoon on mini mock-up sewing. This really helping me think through the construction process in advance, and make design decisions now. Looking forward to sewing samples for details. #sewsky

Mini mock-up! I think im going to adjust the color blocking a bit so that the center section is a bit narrower, but overall, I really like the neckline and the double-breasted elements. #sewsky

Playing around with my mini, I think I've found a neckline for a vest i want to attempt. Next step is to draft and sew the mini mockup and practice construction of the support layers. I'll also play around with color blocking since the brocade can be flipped #sewsky

Sock update! I'm 5 rows from finishing the full pattern repeat. I almost like the interior float side more than the knit side. It's been a little slow going, and I might change to a different pattern after the arch, one that I dont have to keep checking my chart for. #showmeyourknits #knitsky

Working a mini-me at quarter scale so I can make mini mockups and use less fabric. And also maybe make mini cosplays. Ive got to double check the chest measurements before I sew then on, then i can work on the base #sewsky

I dont normally post food, but at my request, Partner made chicken paprikash following @tastinghistory.bsky.social's video, but replacing the sour cream with goat yogurt for easier lactose digestion, and boy is this fantastic. Def a rec!

Occasionally, I have to leave some of my favorite #pixelart on the cutting room floor. I was really proud of capturing Vegeta's acting, and definitely heard @teamfourstar.bsky.social Lani's voice in my head while working on this. But since the DLC doesn't include lip flaps, Toei said to cut it.

Now that I've sorted out my cabbage, I think it's time to start on a new project. Im leaning toward waistcoat/suit vest, but im not sure which fabric. I already have trousers from the black pinstripe and the gray glenplaid (along with a haori). I thought laying out my ties would help. #sewsky

Listening to @nicolerudolph.bsky.social talk about #Brandywine is really bringing up memories of joining a tent village when I first became homeless. The core value of the group was mutual aid. By helping one another, we ensure that we will be helped when we are in need.

For my second felt pumpkin (part of the reason I didn't make the first one bigger), I'm using a pattern by Kamui Cosplay. This stiff felt is holding its shape as well as the foam the pattern was designed for. Guess I'll save the buckram for another project #craftsky #sewsky tbcont...

Calm outside, chaotic inside! I did wind up having to piece a few smaller scraps in to maintain the pattern of the plaid. I do love how the stripes help the seams vanish. Now I just have to fold it over and top stitching to encase the raw edges. #sewsky #patchwork

Time to get patchy! Im going to have to piece together scraps to finish the waistband hem for my hoodie. But after laying out all my large pieces, I think i have enough without needing to get into the truly tiny scraps. #sewsky #patchwork

Scamp at 2 months old, snuggled in my scarf. At 3 months old, snuggled into my tanktop (already too big for it). Today at Nearly 4 years old, trying out my new hoodie for the first time. Nestled up on my chest has always been his happy place. #catsky

Just needs the hem. But for that, I actually have to modify the pants a bit. I'd made them with a bit too much fabric in the inseam, so I already sewed the corrected seam, but I never cut off the excess fabric. So tomorrow I can trim that finally and attach it to the hoodie hem #sewsky
