A doodle for a simpler version of the game. The runes on the board boost your stats / give you items At a HP cost. Swords: Boost attack , Shield, protects you from the next damage instance, potion, gives you a healing potion (you can store 3) , stars = direct boss damage. #gamedev #pixelart

The main issue is, the damage you take is shown when you CLICK on the enemy. Most normal enemies die in one hit. (Excluding the bosses) . I'm still figuring stuff out lol!

Boss encounters can be.. very quick lool! I need to work on showing the damage you're taking / the damage you're dealing a bit more clearly. It's a bit annoying as turns in "battle" happen simultaneously

Really quick MS paint edit. But. Rather than having a separate cultist mode for boosting base stats, I can just use the top of the screen to add charms that the player gets (Which can resemble mini cultists lol). I WILL USE THE ENTIRE SCREEN AND YOU WILL LIKE IT!

In my (personal) IDEAL WORLD . it would be SCORCHED EARTH. go back to GEN 1 /2 with the evos /pre evos/forms introduced for each mon there still there (maybe with some of the popular merch mons from later gens scattered about. But I know that's completely unreasonable.

Probably something along side lets go Pikachu / Eevee with the core features of the main series (battling, evolving ,trading). Small cast of mons (Quality over Quantity) and maybe make it some alternative Universe that is just using the Pokemon branding lol (cont)

Like the game is great but feels empty in a lot of places. Removing features like abilities and a majority of trainer battles (which I guess ZA is compensating for!) hurt a little too. Who knows. Maybe ZA will address my complaints lol!

I really enjoyed Pikachu and eevee but it got shat on a lot for deviating from the series too much. It's a guilty pleasure of mine that I still need to 100% at some point.

Legends Arceus is one of my favourite games in the series but it still feels like it was. too much for game freak in ways lol.

I also think generation 3.5 ( XD gale of darkness, collusieum , LG FR , EMERALD, mystery dungeon Red and blue) Was actually one of the best times to be a Pokemon fan. It was nice how new pokemon were being drip fed into the franchise and felt mysterious at the same time.

Hot take:
Pokemon needs a reboot and has to be able to piss off the fan base a little in order to move forward properly. Or at least a side series with a smaller roster (similar to legends) that allows them to experiment or something;
