Every harbor in Ciena is home to at least one statue of a Mega Absol. These statues were built honor of a lone Absol that stood against a cataclysmic hurricane generations ago and helped to quell the Pokémon that summoned the storm.

Absol are a common sight in Ciena. The region has embraced their 'disaster Pokémon', highly valuing the Absol's innate ability to know when really bad weather is on the way. Many TV news stations include an 'Absol report' with their daily weather.

In the wild, Noveyas are most commonly found on the routes between Sun River City and Skyreach City. They get along quite well with Rookidee, and is not uncommon to spot mixed flocks of these bird Pokémon hopping about in the tall grass.

Life is tough in Ciena. At birth, Deerling of this region are quickly claimed by a sprig of kudzu vine. Eventually, the aggressive growth of this plant will smother the life from the Deerling and cause it to evolve to the Cienan variety of Sawsbuck.

Deerling are plentiful in Ciena, but due to the particular climate found in the region there are only two types of Deerling to be found. The Wet Season overlaps with the Spring and Summer elsewhere, and the Dry Season with the Autumn and Winter seasons.
