A little fun side project- and my first somewhat-formal try at silicone! This is a teeny squishy version of the gargoyle I recently released, made by scanning the original with my phone’s LiDAR scanner and 3D printing a (mini) mold based on that! *Officially* tried out linocut for the first time!!! Of course I had to carve some Fresno Nightcrawlers, I had a ton of fun and want to do more stuff like this!! One of these already sold to a friend, and I’m thinking about putting the rest up on @playdeadprops.com if there’s interest… let me know!!

Well they’ve made it this far!!! Just pulled the first test out of the plaster mold (cast in latex with a soft foam fill, so they’re super squishy!!!) and while it wasn’t perfect, it’s a good enough proof of concept!! On to painting, coming to @playdeadprops.com soon…….

The Deets 🎨:

Originally sculpted by hand in Monster Clay (soft grade), then molded with Smooth-On Mold Star 16 Fast and cast in solid white resin! Hand painted in acrylics, washed with black FW ink, and finally clearcoated!

I only ended up making two (so far), one that I gifted to the wonderful @spinchcat.bsky.social and the original “prototype” which I have, any ideas what to do with the mold now??
