Looker & Emma's story challenges Lysandre’s argument.

Looker has nowhere near Lysandre's resources yet goes above and beyond to help someone less fortunate. Lysandre blows his money on doomsday tech; Looker uses what he has to part the clouds and let flowers bloom, changing Lumiose in the process.

Lysandre & Team Flare epitomize the contradiction. Lysandre has world-altering technology and uses it to build a doomsday bunker that only his rich cohorts can enter.

Then, in the postgame, you actually see the inequality Lysandre claims to be animated by: you meet Emma, living on the streets.

XY’s antagonist Lysandre espouses a Malthusian philosophy—the idea that the world’s population growth outstrips its available resources.

However, throughout the game you encounter several self-serving individuals and parodies of the rich, hoarding and enhancing their own wealth.

For me, it wasn’t just the surprise of Kalos coming next, but also that they were pitching something so concept driven. Something that takes advantage of the creative freedom in game design and stories that the Legends premise provides. We’ll see if PLZA succeeds, but the swing excites me.

That day threw such a curveball at us. No one was ready for the reveal that Legends "Pokémon Z" was next. I was honestly ecstatic to be so surprised.

We’re a week away from what seems to be the riskiest, most unique Pokémon game to date.

With Pokémon Legends Z-A’s honed focus on its setting and new combat system, Champions coming, and next year’s anniversary, it feels like the series' possibility space has never been wider.
