The Patio Theatre opened in 1928 and was considered the “Crown Jewel of Century Theaters circuit” It was designed by R.Thomas Short & William Rau. The theatre name came from the patio in the lobby. In the 1960s, theater was demolished and replaced by the Patio Gardens apartments #history #flatbush

The initial plans by architects Walker & Gillette for developing the land lot where the old Lefferts' homestead stood before it moved to Prospect Park. The architectural design was Italian Renaissance style, with facades of brick and lime­stone, & arcade shops. #Flatbush #prospectleffertsgardens

This #ThenAndNow features a 1909 postcard of PS 92, once on Robinson St (now Parkside Ave). Built in 1905 by NYC and designed by A.W. Ross, the school reflects Colonial Revival style—back when farmland was giving way to new homes.
