If remembering the past helps us not repeat it, we might as well enjoy remembering it. I’ve been playing this game almost daily for about a year.
With commentary on AI, we can’t have just those unreservedly enthusiastic, on the one hand, and those skeptic to the point of rejecting entirely (’doomers’ to the enthusiasts). We need those who fall in between: enthusiastic but skeptic, the reserved adopters.

It's true that AI can't produce art. Typewriters or pianos also can't. But you can provide AI with instructions. That's not true of typewriters or pianos. (Self-playing pianos don't really follow instructions.)

Kommer ibland att tänka på frimärkssamlande och huruvida det kommer nya generationer filatelister. Senast häromdagen. Så fick jag syn på kuvertet min leverans Maigret-romaner kom i, beställd via Bokbörsen. Ett annat slags frimärkssamlande bedrivs på Sacher Antikvariat i Malmö. Dessa utgavs 1976.

Googling for typographically-oriented designers, I saw that searching for ’Veronika Burian’ causes the results to be set in Bree Serif. Also happens for ’José Scaglione’, who also worked on that typeface.

Spent hours trying to shoot a short video where I show the app. Super hard! I take a lot of photos, so composition and lighting is familiar. But all the rest I’m doing for the first time. What pace feels natural? How do I even hold the phone in my hand? Trying again tomorrow. #buildinpublic

You wouldn’t ask this of a human writing partner: ’Show me an outline of this draft, with a reflection upon how each successive idea contributes to the reader’s understanding. I want to see the sequence of ideas, and when we revisit an idea to add nuance, and what that nuance contributes.’
Claude is just a superior writing partner to ChatGPT.
