Doug Ford criticizes Canada’s tariff deal on Chinese EVs

It’s all about free trade (reduced tariffs) until it isn’t. Never a nuanced response from Ontario’s Chief populist. Remember this guy was a Trump devotee!

Opinion: Alberta gets oil pipeline politics bouncing again
The pipeline is still not even on the drawing board. But political questions will be raised anew after Smith’s proposal

…This kind of obsessive focus on identity politics is partly what drove voters away from the NDP under Mr. Singh. The party was shut out of Ontario in the federal election as working-class voters moved to the Conservatives and centre-left ones to the Liberals….Amen. More feared Policy renewal now!

Trump on Greenland: "Denmark is very far away. A boat landed there 200 years ago or something and they say they have rights to it. I don't know if that's true. I don't think it is, actually ... we really need it for national security ... maybe you'll see more and more soldiers go there."

Canada should have the power to seize Moscow’s frozen money, even if it’s unwise to use it
The only likely way the invasion of Ukraine will end is when Vladimir Putin ceases to be Russia’s leader; at that point, economic leverage becomes a potent tool again
