Our game board Aquila was the result of a desire to discover and tell the story of the mystery board game found in a possible Druid grave in Colchester, rather than a motivation to create a board game. Aquila is now being played again 2000 years later. www.honour.org.uk/a-druid-at-c...

Quite worrying how easy technology makes it to be scammed and for money to be taken from bank accounts.
Next week, as well as a 3-day event at Colchester Roman Circus called Ludi Remus, our Aquila game will also be taught by the team from Signals at their People's of Essex" exhibition at Jaywick Martello Tower from 29th Oct to 6th Nov 2025. signals.org.uk/peoples-of-e...

There must have been a Roman glass making industry in Colchester for so much glass to be found.
Colchester has three railway stations and the one in the city centre is called St Botolphs, the one with a longer trek is called North Station. Students from the University tend to use Hythe station.
Britains had coinage a hundred years before Claudius landed in Britain. The Trinovantes of Colchester loved Roman stuff but the Iceni across the border in Norfolk and Suffolk were not so keen.
Our board game Aquila can be played on three open days during school half-term break at Colchester Roman Circus on 29th, 30th and 31st Oct. There is no open day on the 28th Oct, which they posted in error on their site. catuk.org/october-2025...

Colchester has UKs only Roman chariot racing site where 4 coloured teams raced against each other, sites often where Roman political protests happened. Colchester site is a polling station today for a by-election involving 6 coloured sides. History repeats today. catuk.org/event/roman-...

Our Aquila game board is based on an archaeological find in Stanway and uses our own "rule set". We think the British adapted the Roman game of Ludus Latrunculorum with the addition of the Aquila piece. Alternative rules for the game are over-complex and no fun. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rL4...

Be a rebel and go the middle / centre direction.
In the days when calling someone a witch during a neighbour dispute had lethal consequencies.
I do all my own design work for my board game of Aquila, not sure if that counts.
Our Aquila board game returns to Colchester on 29th, 30th, 31st October 2025 based on an interpretation of the rules of a lost game board found opposite Colchester Zoo in 1996. The event happens at Colchester Roman Circus between 11am and 3pm. The event is called Ludi Remus.
USA will never be the same again. The changes going on under the new political administration, and the changes that must happen to create new checks and balances to the power that is now being centralised into a few, is going to reshape USA forever.
I am also no fan of game publishers, so never use them.
Personally I think "balance" is vital, looking after mind and body, the signals of stress, and the usual things like exercise, diet and sleep. For me, all creative processes need fresh inputs from random sources, thus nature, history and socialising offer new ideas for creatity and counter burnout.
Have completed for my Aquila game board, which has an interesting background, since it is a "lost" game that is being played again 2000 years later.
Been thinking of building a community app on the ATProtocol with all the communities being bound by a similar set of rules, which if broken, a user will get restricted and blocked across all the communities from a single source that the AI moderators will work from.
Our city of Colchester has been awarded "Sanctuary City" status, as we are a place of safety for refugees from war and persecution. We have been a place of sanctuary for 2000 years starting with those who fled here from Gaul when Julius Caesar invaded Gaul. www.gazette-news.co.uk/news/2549828...

What a great win for Greenstead.
The AI revolution is going to create laziness and e-waste, for example, what is the point of robo-lawn-mowers? Surely gardens encourage mental and physical health rather than handing this over to robots? How long before a robo-mower breaks and ends in a rubbish dump?
I hate to think how much of the content available on the internet is now AI generated.
Several Janes Walks could be organised around these blue plaques in May 2026.
