Tbh all of this Ben Solo stuff has reminded me that it took ten real-world years for Solas to come back, and that his game got announced, cancelled and reworked THREE TIMES before he finally returned. So if it can happen for Solavellan maybe it can happen for Reylo too 🥲

YES! Wasn't there a whole fragrance commercial where Adam Driver went into the World Between Worlds and came back as a centaur? Maybe I'm getting the details wrong but if the goal is to bring Ben Solo back with robot spider legs it feels like we're halfway there 😂

Exactly! Disney could easily bring Ben Solo back if they wanted to, and the more I think about it, the whole "but I don't understand how he can be alive" thing sounds like code for "I don't want to do that."

Of course! But the 2012 Maul short stories were specifically written to tie into his return in The Clone Wars, because Lucasfilm understood what a heavy lift it would be to bring him back. So if Disney is afraid that audiences won't understand the return for Ben Solo-

for his resurrection, and to explain his ties to the Nightsisters and Mother Talzin. Those novels made money AND helped audiences accept Maul's return. There's nothing stopping Disney from doing the same with Ben Solo. The money they could make with the books/comics leading up to his movie!

You're absolutely right! He's always primed for redemption! And I feel strongly that if executives fear that audiences won't understand "why Ben Solo is alive," Maul really is the template. The novels and short stories released prior to The Clone Wars were specifically released to give us context-

Disney could absolutely do something similar with Ben Solo. The money they can make by re-releasing The Force Awakens novelization with a brand new Ben Solo short story at the end. Or a whole new YA novel about teen Ben Solo, which drops hints about his return. Maul is the template, Disney! Use it!

Take me back to January 2012 where Star Wars bent itself over backwards to explain the resurrection of Darth Maul. People forget that he wasn't suddenly brought back out of nowhere; there were novels and short stories released prior to The Clone Wars specifically to prime audiences for his return.
