Elly's themes are very much family, reflection, and nostalgia. Skyler's themes are emotion, courage, and the determination to stand for something. They are intertwined together, but also have moments of individual growth. They compliment each other, rather than complete.

Elly and Skyler are very much a love story. Learning to understand each other more deeply and support one another. In some ways they contribute to the other's worst instincts, but their best growth at the same time.

Elly learns that sometimes she has to sit with discomfort and process things, wtihout just barreling through to the next place. Skyler learns that sometimes he needs to get back up there and eat that horse, and just go with his instinct. They teach each other.

Skyler is the moon. Sensitive, thoughtful, reflective. He comes across as moody, but he's good at reading the room, reading people. He's quiet, but not unobservant. These two are childhood friends who have similar backgrounds and grew up together.

Elly is the sun. Not just in terms of being "all smiles" or a "ray of sunshine", but in terms of the intensity, and the relentless nature of it. She has her goals, and pursues relentlessly, and doesn't know when to quit sometimes. Contrast with Skyler...

But that won't stop him. Callan learns who he is, that he's not his brother, but that's okay. He learns to do what he thinks is best, and to live life, not mourn death. He's hardy, down to earth, and steadfast. Always taking the next step forward and being the vanguard needed.

The younger son of a shepherding family, struggling for money in Vylbrand. He sets out quietly because his brother promised they would together, and because his folks needed the money. He is dragged down by the weight of lost potential and measured to a ghost's halcyon memories..

Callan's story is about love, loss, grief, family, and self worth. He starts quite literally in the shadow of his older brother, the 1.0 WoL. Every action of his is in service to his parents, and to the whims of the departed.

But that doesn't stop him. He succeeds his own way, with his own strengths. Elias values being himself and finding his own creative solutions to problems. He's also very cognizant of technology and how it can be used for well or ill.

Elias is about humanity, technology, and ingenuity

Elias embodies the phrase, "only human" with a chip on his shoulder. He's a bit abrasive, he's not the most heroic type, but he is a hero in his own way.

He's not super strong, or magically gifted. He doesn't have the usual trappings of the "Warrior of Light" about him

Does that make him less of a paragon? Probably, idk. Sage is about the kindness of humanity, the power that love has, how one spark can carry, and how it's never too late to get back up. People can be messy, cold, cruel, and heartless sometimes. But they're trying, and that's what matters.

Yes, he falters. Loses his way, gets mad at people, at the world, lashes out, embraces darkness. But he comes back. I think it's just as important to acknowledge the people who get back up as much as the people who never falter in the first place...

Hope to be a beacon to others, and kindness in an unkind world. Sage isn't kind out of spite of the world, but because of it. He was raised to believe in that potential, and that's something that he aspires to. To make the world a better place than he found it and bring hope to others...
