Vucic stated tonight that the US is getting ready to impose sanctions on the main oil company in Serbia, majority owned by Russian state corporations. Two days ago Bloomberg reported that the Biden administration is seriously considering imposing sanctions on the Russian oil sector.

As I suspected, the US sanctioned the Serbian oil industry owned by Russia in a broad sanctions package against Russia and not targeting Serbia specifically. Russia is on track to lose its main hold on Serbia.

Hard to imagine that Russian oil assets in Serbia are being especially targeted. More logical that sanctioning Russian oil industry in Serbia is a part of a larger, incoming US sanctions package against Russia.
