Went for pool laps for the first time in like 3 months, while keeping my weight training up in between. Amazing how weights impact your ability to swim (positively). I have been swimming all my life, but never combined the two. I probably should!

I suggest a multiplier for the age of the researcher and bonus points if the author list is all white and male
I’ve got an idea.
(Number of times a paper is cited/number of authors on a paper) x Impact Factor of the Journal the paper is published in = a metric that tells you how hard an author worked and how good their science is

ARC says Discovery Projects outcomes will be tomorrow (Tuesday). Linkage Projects (2025, round 1) on Wed. Over past ~year, it's often been at about 11am (Canberra).

Despite having been overseas for a conference, I managed to fit 6 gym sessions in the past 14 days. Today Im actually sore. Anyhow, it feels good to know that even if travel screws my calorie counting, my sports habit is unbroken.

I recently learned what rejection sensitivity dysphoria is, and holy forking shirtballs, does that make sense to me and explain many of my experiences.

This is a significant “dumbing of a nation, just dig up dirt to sell instead” graph that is easily reversed and #Australia would reap the benefits. Australians invented wifi and were early designers of solar panels. We have really really inventive smart people that we SHOULD invest in. 1/

It is great honour to be this years recipient of the RACI HG Smith Memorial Award. Looking at the list of previous awardees, I am very humbled to be named among many heroes of Australian chemistry.
