im starting to understand why people fight so strongly for pronouns now. it stings alot when someone refuses to acknowledge it. if its out of hostility you have that barrier but when its someone close it gets to you.

i really wanted my mom to accept it. to acknowledge it. to just say "i understand".
but instead she tried to assure me, ask what i wanted to do about it, rationalize it with stuff.
for the first time in over 5 years i cried about something. even for just a fraction of a minute it upset me.

i think my preferred pronouns honestly might be something for a collection. like referring to myself as "we" rather then "me" or being referred to as they/them.

a friend might ask for advice and 2-4 of those alternates will all argue over different points. and then i have to decide ultimately which one to go with.

some of them are unreasonably hateful, some of them are unreasonably unhateful.
and rarely do they all agree on something. rarely do WE.
