NGC 891, apparently called the Silver Sliver Galaxy by some. A spiral galaxy viewed edge-on from our vantage point, it is about 30 million light years away and about 100,000 light years across. It is similar in size and structure to our own Milky Way.

NGC 891, apparently called the Silver Sliver Galaxy by some. A spiral galaxy viewed edge-on from our vantage point, it is about 30 million light years away and about 100,000 light years across. It is similar in size and structure to our own Milky Way.
