Crunchyroll Lays Out Its 2026 Winter Season
Bundle up, warm up the hot cocoa and prepare for lots and lots of anime. Crunchyroll has announced every new and returning series that will debut on its service through the end of January. The biggest show on the block this time is the return of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End on January 16. You’ve no doubt been busy “taking the Frieren Challenge” and drawing her from an upward angle like everybody else on social media. Now it’s time for the real thing. Trigun: Stargaze, the followup to the recent reboot, will begin its run January 10. After the theatrical sneak preview, the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen begins January 8, same day as Fire Force Season 3. The first COVID period piece we’ve seen comes in the form of “Anyway, I’m Falling In Love With You” on January 8, along with the first season of “The Invisible Man And His Soon To Be Wife,” about the titular invisible man and the blind woman who loves him. And as we’ve covered before, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes debuts its second season January 5, the same day as a romance called “You Can’t Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends!” (Who says […] The post Crunchyroll Lays Out Its 2026 Winter Season appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.

Archie Comics Announces Reboot…Through Oni Press
Ten years ago Archie Comics radically reinvented itself. The comics publisher largely known for entertaining children would do a 180 and begin targeting adults. The DeCarlo house style was kaput; in its place was a more realistic, grown-up style and a rotation of professional writers. There would also be “Archie Horror” titles filled with gore and swearing to make it clear (perhaps too clear) that Archie “wasn’t just for kids anymore.” The children’s material would still survive, in the form of the supermarket digests. But at the comics shop it was a new world. But as the years have gone on, that model has decayed. None of the titles from the 2015 relaunch have been seen in years. Months have gone by without a single Archie-branded title shipping to shops. Most recently, the collapse of Diamond Distributing seems to have curbstomped the majority of the supermarket digests, something that seemed invincible. Now Archie is announcing another reboot…but not through them, through Oni Press. Uh-oh. In September of 2026, a new mainline Archie series will begin, written by Ice Cream Man’s W. Maxwell Prince and illustrated by Fábio Moon (Casanova). The following month, a new Sabrina series will launch, written by […] The post Archie Comics Announces Reboot…Through Oni Press appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.

The year 2025 has been a very good year for Korean crime dramas streaming in the U.S. across platforms like Netflix, Viki, Disney+/Hulu, and more. Below are 7 standout K-dramas reviewed by PopGeeks. (1) Trigger Memorable Quote: “Every bullet tells a story.” They Deliver Illegal Firearms Right to Your Door? A gritty cop and his enigmatic partner team up to stop illegal firearms from flooding South Korea. Detective Lee Do avoids lethal force, relying on a taser instead of a gun. But South Korea, a nation where gun ownership is rare, is suddenly flooded with illegal firearms. Chaos erupts. At one crime scene, bullets were hidden in the ceiling; at another, weapons were seized. Lee Do, a former military sniper, identified the arsenal: XM177, AK-47, MP5, and MK MOD 1. He suspected the cases were linked. A student shooter, taken alive, revealed the guns were delivered by courier. Later, Lee Do encountered Moon Baek, who claimed he had also received bullets and a list of addresses. When a parolee armed with a weapon stormed the police station, Lee Do abandoned his taser. Metal Mack: A Mega-Sized New Homebrew For Genesis
Independent game studio BitBeamCannon, based out of Knoxville, has been working on a very Mega Man-inspired platformer for the Sega Genesis (and Steam too). It’s called Metal Mack, and the influence is just barely disguised. Instead of Dr. Light you have Professor Photon, instead of Rush you have Rusty. etc. The year is 20XX and the world is in peril. Photon converts his most advanced android into a powerful attack robot and sends him out to make scrap metal of the evil machines running rampant. The wildest thing about Metal Mack is that it’s also coming out for the Neo Geo…physically. The Neo Geo was SNK’s super-high-end console from the early 90s that no one could afford except adult collectors. The games came on giant cartridge boards that cost $700 in some cases (in 90s money). Spielberg Returns To Sci-Fi With ‘Disclosure Day’
As you think about the recent murder of director Rob Reiner, and all he left behind, consider this: Steven Spielberg is still out there and making movies. He revolutionized the industry with Jaws, and that was fifty whole years ago. He was one of the most influential forces in every Gen-X and Millennial childhood, to the point that some recent movies and shows have been giant love letters to him. Today whatever the man’s doing just seems to happen in the background of IP and sequel noise. He’s still making movies…but for how much longer? My point is not to take him for granted. M3GAN Spinoff ‘Soulm8te” Canned By Universal Three Weeks Before Release
:Last year, before the release of M3GAN 2.0, Universal Studios announced a spinoff of sorts was on the way, an “erotic thriller” called Soulm8te. Despite sounding like it had little to do with either M3GAN film at all, the globe just got cold feet at the eleventh hour. It was supposed to be released January 9, but has now been pulled from the schedule indefinitely. Soulm8te is about a man whose wife dies and, rather than accepting the loss, he creates an android replacement of her. Does it go wrong? You bet it does.  “In an attempt to create a truly sentient partner, he inadvertently turns a harmless lovebot into a deadly soulmate,” the official description says. Kate Dolan, the director of Soulm8te, said her movie was “an exploration of relationships and loneliness…Despite technological advances, there are enduring human truths we cannot escape, and I am looking forward to delving into those depths.” Hope she wasn’t looking forward to it TOO much. This doesn’t mean Soulm8te will never see the light of day; it means Universal no longer has an interest in releasing it themselves. They say they’re now shopping the movie around to other companies. Where it will wind […] The post M3GAN Spinoff ‘Soulm8te” Canned By Universal Three Weeks Before Release appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.

“Mary Kills People” is a 2025 Korean drama, 12 episodes, categorized as Medical drama, Thriller, and Black Comedy. It is a remake of the 2017-2019 Canadian series by the same name. Memorable Quotes: “Mercy isn’t always clean — sometimes it leaves blood on your hands.” “Every confession carries a price, but silence can cost even more.” “Death isn’t the enemy; indifference is.” “Helping someone die doesn’t make you a monster — refusing to see their pain does.” SUMMARY: An exploration of euthanasia and compassion. A doctor secretly helps terminally ill patients end their suffering. But her choices blur the line between compassion and crime. ♦ Where is the Line Between Mercy and Crime? “Mary Kills People” is a bold Korean drama that confronts the taboo subject of assisted dying ~ euthanasia, or mercy killing ~ through a morally charged narrative. Set in modern South Korea, the story follows Woo So-Jeong, a highly respected emergency room doctor devoted to saving lives. Fallout Season 2 Debut Moved Up To December 16
Aside from the Stranger Things finale, the return of Fallout will be the highlight of this month. Johnathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s adaption of the hit video game series is a hit unto itself, and does not require knowledge of game lore to enjoy. Season 1 was excellent and I’m rewatching it right now, in anticipation of its glorious return this Wednesday, the 17th…. …oh, wait. This came out of nowhere, but Amazon has decided to move up the release date for Fallout Season 2 by one day. Instead of the 17th, it will now be released TOMORROW, the 16th. Ack! I’m not done! I haven’t finished my rewatch yet! And I simply don’t have time in my day to binge through the rest of it in so short a span of time! I hate to say it, but at least for me, getting the new season one day early is ANNOYING! …Yeah, I know, I’m speaking for myself here. My solace lies in the fact that this time, the episodes will appear on a weekly basis instead of all at once, so I will have time to finish Season One AFTER the Season Two premiere. Season One ended with […] The post Fallout Season 2 Debut Moved Up To December 16 appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.

The Latest Stranger Things 5 Trailer Turns Everything Upside Down
You want to know why it took so long for a trailer about the second half of Stranger Things 5 to appear? You want to know why it didn’t just show up at the end of the previous batch? Because the Duffer Brothers only finished editing those episodes two days ago. True. Ross confessed as much on Insta. That means this whole thing was probably edited together in 48 hours, but it doesn’t look rushed. Looks great. BOOM:   This trailer raises a lot more questions than it answers. What’s up with the big red ball of energy Steve and Dustin are staring at? Dustin says “everything we’ve ever assumed about the Upside Down has been dead wrong,” but what have we been assuming? Just basic stuff so far…is it NOT another dimension? (Please don’t have this be Earth in the future or the past because that would be stupid.) And why, after everything those soldiers just saw, are they shooting at ROBIN? You just saw the real McCoy stomp through and massacre all your squadmates! Robin isn’t your enemy, dipwads! Killer Whale : Captivity, Chaos, and the Deadly Mind of a Killer Whale
Killer Whale (2026) Brings Ocean Terror and Heart-Pounding Survival If you’ve been craving a survival thriller with a fresh twist, Killer Whale might just be your next must-watch. Directed by Joanne Brechin, the filmmaker behind the indie favorite This Dog’s Life, the movie marks her first major Hollywood leap. She co-wrote the script with Katherine McPhee—not the American Idol singer, but an equally creative force—which brings a sharp, suspenseful edge to this tale of friendship, terror, and the consequences of captivity. The film stars Virginia Gardner (A Breed Apart, F**, Marry, and Kill*, The Runaways) as Maddie, and Mel Jarnson as her best friend Trish, who audiences will soon know from her upcoming role as Cammy in the new Street Fighter movie. Together, the duo heads out on what seems like the perfect getaway: a boating trip meant for fun, laughter, and adventure. But the idyllic outing quickly descends into nightmare territory when Maddie and Trish find themselves trapped in a remote lagoon with Ceto, a killer whale whose behavior has been warped by life in captivity. While killer whales rarely attack humans in the wild, as explored in the documentary Blackfish, captivity takes a toll on their mental health—and […] The post Killer Whale : Captivity, Chaos, and the Deadly Mind of a Killer Whale appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.

Stupid Never Dies: Zombie Romance Meets Hack-and-Slash Chaos
