A really good thunderclap is a Grade A human experience.
Since we’re starting to break containment, this was’t meant as an argument in favor of complacency. It was targeted at a friend who’s been Denethor-ing pretty hard lately, in hopes they don’t metaphorically light themselves on fire and jump off the highest tower before the battle even starts.

At no point was it suggested that our power comes solely from the vote. Obviously not. This is a response to those who would declare premature defeat and call it wisdom. It’s not too late, we haven’t exhausted all our tools, and we shouldn’t just roll over even if we have.

Let's be done with the "if there even *IS* an election" gotcha. We know. The thought has occurred to all of us. It's unhelpful. I'm going to continue behaving as if I'm not powerless—as if totalitarianism isn't inevitable. Because it's not, and I'm not.

One hopes. But presidential campaigns can be different animals. Idk… Walz, who by my estimate seems to just be a genuine actual human doing his best to not be evil, got out mostly unscathed, but he was only in the shit for like 3 months.

You’re right of course. And it’s patronizing of me to worry she couldn’t handle it. I’m just sick of people seeming great till the election microscope comes out and then suddenly they’re no good anymore. I like her and want to keep on liking her.

I try mushroom every 3 or so years to see if I am an adult yet. Turning 39 next month and answer is still no.

I’m selfishly afraid to waste her. I’ve wanted her for the job for a long time, but I hate the idea of her getting down in the muck with pussy-grabbers and dead-eyed sociopaths and being steamrolled by their empty bullshit for nothing. I want her to win.
