It's like, we only have one short life to live. Why gatekeep anything regarding identity?
I think fighting to be your true self is one of the most beautiful and important things you can do as a human.

I'm of the belief that a trans person is whatever they say they are as soon as they say it. Whatever their transition situation is be dammed.

Hostility to the idea of self definition, and basically saying that if you are not a binary trans person pursuing hrt and surgery, that one is not really trans in any way that matters.

A lot of it also comes from the explicit idea that one is trans because they perform transition. That it's something you do, you earn.
Not that one transitions because one is trans, something you are.
That clashes with ideas of self determination, that one is trans if one is not one's agab.

There's no hard definition of transmed, it can mean a few different things. When I talk about it, it's primarily about the people who try to gatekeep labels and community based on medical transition. The "you're not really trans unless you're on HRT" type.

I talk about being too poor to ever get any gender affirming surgeries, and while I know certain healthcare plans can cover a lot of it, I definitely couldn't afford what they don't cover and I would not be able to afford taking any time off that wasn't 100% paid.

I'm on social media to be part of the public square. I really don't see myself joining any instances forked from Bluesky, cause if I just wanted a small insular community I'd be on my discord server.
I like seeing and interacting with a wide variety of people. Even if some of them suck major ass.
