There's something up that's impacting their men's national side. I really think they'd be better off focusing on Super Rugby Americas as appeared to be the plan before their franchise pulled out. While South America Rugby is flying then North America in general it's going backwards.

Not overly concerned with table position at the moment as it's only two games in. But that being said PD needs some fixing over the next 3 games.
Hope we come out with a chip in our shoulder over the next 3 weeks and lay a marker down.

Glad to get the South Africa tour out of the way early, two of the most difficult games over with.
Winning the 3 home games is vital now to head into the international break.

Tommy O'Brien and Hugh Cooney stood out today.
Thought Prendergast had a good game overall in terms of kicking and game management but the intercept pass at the end will be a learning curve, sometimes keeping it simple is better.

LBP and a better performance, would've taken that before the match. Disappointing not to get a 2nd point out of the game given it was there at the end. Conceding the try before HT and the intercept at the end were the crucial scores.
Showed character, better overall, took something from the game.

Two things I'd like to see from Leinster: leadership on field and cohesion in play. It's not preseason anymore.
While taking anything from the SA tour is a bonus, performances have to be there.
We have to be more purposeful and not get hammered (or nilled).

They'll be the finished article by 2027 once again I'd imagine.

Wouldn't be overly concerned about another loss (despite the fact that it would leave us bottom) but the performance needs to be much better. In fact, there needs to be a performance to begin with.
Glad to get the SA tour out of the way early but we need to wake up from preseason mode.

Would imagine it would be best for the postponed games (Edinburgh vs Ulster, Connacht vs Scarlets) to be played in November rather than waiting for the Six Nations incase more games get called off at some point. Get them played while there's space in the calendar. 🏉

Absolutely, they weren't far off in most games, it's just they were a bit off too often and it added up.
Still think we (Leinster) got away with the win in the Aviva as Connacht could have taken it in the 2nd half.
A few little corrections and some consistency and they'll win more than they lose.

Impressed with Connacht last weekend. If they can keep the squad fit I would back them for play-offs and a run in the Challenge Cup. Feel like Lancaster can get rid of the habit of letting games slip away like the semi-final against Racing and other matches in the last few seasons.

There's definitely a big issue somewhere for them. They couldn't afford to travel for November games last year and haven't been able to host their 'home' games. Now their planned November games for 2025 will be cancelled for the repechage.
Far cry from running tier 1 sides close at RWC23.

I decided that this season I'll be doing write ups of Leinster and Ireland games as a regular weekly feature on PtPS, alongside Rugby Bullets.

As a Leinster supporter it wasn't the ideal game to start with, as the nil will make it a long week for the players.

Part of me was hoping it would actually be 4 pools of 6. Basically the same as the previous format with an extra game per pool. It means weaker sides get at least 5 games and there's more variety of opponents, with the same number of weeks.
But I get the argument of knockout jeopardy.
