I finally read "The River Has Roots" by @amalelmohtar.com and it was so beautiful... when I put it down last night it had broken through the pent up grief I've been feeling about ICE here in MN and I had a good cry. Thank you for such a wonderful book.

Performing in a pit orchestra for a musical is such a wild experience - you're locked in for 90+ min, no stops / restarts - you get lost, you figure out how to get back in... It's thrilling.

I watched The Gorge tonight mostly to understand Aubrey Plaza's comment about how it captured her feeling of loss... It was a weird context to watch it in, but I did enjoy it.

I feel like I called it from the first preview, the Eyeball Alien is completely stealing the show on Alien Earth. IT IS THE BEST.

@komaniecki.bsky.social : I get your point on rhyming schemes, but can we concede that the Beastie Boys were sort of silly for "Well, everybody rappin' like it's a commercial...Actin' like life is a big commercial" in Pass the Mic? It's one of my favorites.
