I was feeling guilty about watering my lawn on such a hot day, but then I saw all the birds using the sprinkler to bathe, keep cool, and have fun, and all—well, most—of my guilt just vanished.

They finally fixed the sidewalk where the roots of the big old honey locust (?) had buckled it and formed a concrete ridge about six or eight inches above the rest of the pavement.

But now I'm hoping they didn't damage the tree just so people won't trip and fall and break their necks.
