What’s the ripple effect when soldiers start missing payments for their car/house/etc and then their credit takes a hit and then they lose their clearance? Also when they can’t pay for their kids daycare and then their kid gets booted from daycare and then they don’t have childcare?

There’s not enough AER money to sustain the entire force. It sucks seeing people getting denied for the loans through the banks too or being told to go to the chaplain or the food pantry. So many people were already doing that

Also screw anyone who comes with the “they should have 6 months saved.” I had a soldier who delivered pizzas on the side when I was active duty to help support his family.

I also feel bad for the people who are trying to buy a home at their new duty station but are about to have to get a new credit inquiry to just pay their other bills. It sucks to lose your earnest money.

Felt this. Like I had all of my ducks in a row planning my second pregnancy and then the twins threw us for a loop. Paying for daycare for 3 under 3 is insane
