Interestingly leaving crumbs seems to be a hog trait, regardless of age! Literature suggest their adult teeth come through around 2-3 months but we’ve seen many older than this with adult teeth only just coming through 🦔🐾

Fun fact: hedgehogs have milk teeth when they’re young — just like us! They lose them as their adult teeth grow in, ready for all that biscuit & bug crunching 😋

🌙🦔 Cornwall’s mild winters mean hedgehogs often stay active — some don’t hibernate at all!

❌ Don’t weigh 🦔
⚠️ Weight doesn’t equal health

👉 Rule of thumb:
🌙 Out at night = leave be
☀️ Out in daytime = call a rescue

💚 Keep Cornwall’s hedgehogs safe this winter!

Yesterday proved to be a very busy day with lots of new admissions! The first was little Quirrel who came to us from Castle Vets in Launceston after being found out in the daytime, now settled in and receiving intensive care as he is very weak 🤞🦔🐾

Leaf it to me! 🍂 Malfoy one of our recently released hedgehogs has been busy gathering leaves to build a cozy nest.
