Bluesky has actually been remarkably successful as an app within a relatively short time frame. Expecting it to have the same metrics as some of the biggest apps in the world is stupid. What really matters is having content that people care about, especially if it travels outside the platform itself

The problem w/ being a people pleaser is not just the constant anxiety & the fact people are rarely, if ever, "pleased"-- it's that some (many?) people aren't WORTH pleasing. Trying to please them is a fundamental distraction from our trauma recovery mission that we can't afford.

A serigraph of a black bear in a birch grove in wintertime. We see in bear in profile, as it investigates a rotting log on the forest floor. Instead of giving us a clear view of the scene, the artist instead has chosen to put several tree trunks in the way, slightly obscuring our view of the bear. The white parts of the bark on the trees almost matches the snow on the ground, creating contrast between them, the bear, the rotting log and the darker parts of the tree bark.

Look at him. Happy. Dancing in the rain. His superpower? Sticking to everything, surviving on almost nothing, and turning every catastrophe into a sticky rebound. The lower half of its body is light purple, while the upper half is a paler shade of purple. Along the dividing line of the two colors are five large, green spots. The front part of this line is its mouth. On top of its head are two pairs of antenna-like horns; the hind pair is longer than the front pair. These sensitive horns are used to check its surroundings. Goomy is considered the weakest Dragon-type Pokémon. Its body is mostly water and is covered by a germ-laden mucous membrane. This slimy layer causes physical attacks to slide off harmlessly. However, it becomes unable to breathe and will die if its body dries out.

Imaging exoplanets directly has only been accomplished a few dozen times. A NASA space telescope launching this year will test a new technology to directly image the reflected light from planets outside our solar system. It will also conduct large sky surveys to study dark energy. #astronomy
