the trope of “so smart they’re depressed” has become so prevalent we’re in fish taking asking “how’s the water?” territory.

As a result a lot of people think anyone who is happy must be stupid and any one who is sad must be smart.

I think right now fiction, and even non fiction, is overly focused on character at the expense of everything else.

Here is my open source heuristic for detecting fraud:

Search SOWs for the following terms: AI Marketing, salesforce, customer discovery, lead analysis.

I figure there is a 50/50 chance anything with those terms is fraud.

Yup, Fox doesn't invent news, but it covers exactly what they want to push their message.

School Shooting? Endless coverage and speculation about if the shooter is an X. Once it is established they aren't, move on.

Murder? Ignore.
Murder by an immigrant? 3 hours a day for at least a month.

This deal is great for them.

The new investors are kind of hosed though. It will be almost impossible for them to succeed. Its almost like the deal is about controlling media more than earning profit.

The media denies agency to favored groups so they can't be blamed.

Its the same reason there is an "officer involved shooting" when police shoot someone in the back.

Or "vehicle and pedestrian collide" when someone in a car runs over a kid.

Also "zero vacancy" assumes there is no one who wants to move out, or have a kid, or move to a different city or wants a home office, or just stop having a roomate.

It is not possible to think about housing for more than one second without realizing how stupid zero vacancy is.

Its a great business move.

Spend billions generating AI videos, so you can spend billions hosting them so you can serve them to millions of bots, so you can show the bots AI ads from AI companies.

If I was trying to run a company (into the ground) this would be my go to move.

Lotta people still think we're in the late '90s early '00s where EVERYONE purchased a hit game. EVERYONE.

They don't get that there are a hundred times more gamers, but the market is so split a game can be a huge hit in one genre and no one else has heard of it.

I would wager there are more people working at stores that sell Warhammer 40k miniatures and other Nerd Products (MTG, D&D, board games, etc) than coal miners.

I demand that the media ask ever candidate what their plan is to help out the Warhammer dependent communities.

Its Watergate.

It changed the profession from a work-a-day job to a prestige profession and so the job went form being a thing you spent decades crafting, refining and understanding to something you handed out to well pedigreed failsons.

The high point of the profession was the cause its downfall.

The media has accepted Republican framing by default since the 60s.

"political reporter" is the dumping ground for the rich kid failsons who couldn't get into law, business or banking.

Think of all the business majors you knew. The media pulls from kids richer and dumber than them.
