Yesterday, we went to the opening of Fashion at Play @leedsmuseums.bsky.social at Lotherton. Favourites objects included teeny tiny shoes, the pudding hat so toddlers don't bump their heads, and our youth curators case, who chose 'retro' and 'vintage' looks that are basically my 90s teenage hood!
19th century portrait image of two risy cheeked children. A girl in white on left and boy in red (yet to be breeched) on right in big black hat. A case of teeny tiny toddler shoes! A red velvet pudding hat to stop little heads getting bumped whilst learning to wall. Formed by a cross of ribbon on the top, and a crown of padding around the sides. Case of retro 90s looking outfit... wide blue jeans, nirvana t shirt, check shirt. Other clothing in background and text panels.

Students at these schools have just as much right to creative aspirations as students with more resources and privilege, but without the most basic access and support they may never feel empowered or able to pursue those aspirations.

Today Matt shows off some glass walking sticks, but we have a different member of staff, and object to learn about, each day!
