In 2008 I was quoted 12,600$ per year for health insurance just for me before any preexisting conditions. It was more than my Mortgage. I would still be working with affordable healthcare. My state doesn’t participate in the ACA and refused to use the subsidies.

My son and his wife’s medical insurance though her work is over 20,000$ per year. From the 70s through the mid 90s I rarely saw a medical bill for 4 with the insurance I had from work.
In 2008 I was quoted 12,600$ per year just for me with no preexisting conditions.
It was more than my mortgage.

My income on Social Security was too high for any subsidies.
I would still be working with affordable healthcare. And I am Pretty sure that my Medicare premiums will likely increase higher than my Cola adjustments.

My red state doesn’t participate in the ACA.
Rural hospitals and medical centers have been closing already. Some rural residents have to travel over 2 hours for emergency medical care or be life flighted for thousands of dollars.It costs over 2800$ per year with a 6800$ deductible before coverage.

A so called liberal Judge’s home in South Carolina was burnt to the ground. Her husband had to jump out of the window to save his life other family members were injured.
